My astoundingly adorable nephew was born one year ago tomorrow. Happy Birthday, Miles!!!!! He seriously is insanely cute and the happiest person I know. I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday and holding him for the first time and just being so amazed by him and happy to have him in my family. He still makes us all very happy and he still amazes me.
I’m doing a picture tribute for him for his birthday, so if for some reason you hate looking at a bunch of pictures of one of the most adorable babies in the world, you can go ahead and stop reading/looking at this post right now. I don’t care if some might consider it excessive; it’s his first birthday. In fact, I regret that I don’t have more pictures of him on my computer from when he was younger.
I got to go to Salt Lake for a weekend visit in June and Miles and I had a grand time hanging out at the park together.
He started crawling last month and is now on the move. Here he seems to ponder how to navigate around this new, large, mysterious, colourful object.
He was super stoked to get to play with the beachball his great-aunt Joy had brought to the family reunion.
He was also very excited to get to be held by our fabulous and very fun cousin Kristin.
He hasn't quite figured out how to use a cup for its intended purpose yet, but he does realize what a great friend and source of entertainment a plastic cup can be for a teething baby.
Oh dear, the little lad is already taking interest in the modern world of technology. He'll be asking his parents for a real cellphone before they know it.
We can't forget to include a photo of him with his beautiful and wonderful mother, who also happens to be one of my three favorite older sisters.
And, just for fun, we have include a few photos of him when he was a bit younger:
Miles loves getting to play with his Grandpa Johnson. Good thing my dad doesn't mind a drool bath everyonce in a while.
Miles in October. While I was away at school this fall and didn't actually get to see Miles start making these new faces, Shelly made sure to get some good photo documentations of them. Now that Miles has teeth, he can't really make the old-man-with-his-dentures-out face anymore. He does, however, tend to look like a chipmunk when he grins, seeing as only his front teeth have come all the way in.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MILES!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!! In a few more years, we can begin Tree Climbing 101.
