Somewhere in Western Illinois

I knew I'd reached the the Mid-West yesterday when I looked behind me and saw no mountains, and then looked ahead of me and saw only fields and giant thunder heads, which were flashing throughout the sky as though heavenly hosts were having a rave or photo-shoot for the fall fashions. My knowledge was reconfirmed when I stepped out of the car in Ogallala, Nebraska and felt a wave of humid air crash over me. I've left the West again and still find my self looking for the mountains. I guess it's time to look eastward. That's where I can find other mountains to climb so that this adventure may continue without me drowning in this giant sea of corn- I almost did drown in it once in Ohio. Thank goodness that God knows when to throw the life-ring.
