Thanks, Noah!

The first word I taught my Miles to say in Russian after I got home was "rainbow." It's just really fun to say in Russian. Plus it's a symbol and reminder of a promise from God.

I saw Miles last week when I went out to eat with my fam for my birthday. This was our first conversation of the evening:

Me: Hello, Miles! How are you doing? Can I have a hug?
Miles: No, Aunt Amy! I have some thing I need to tell you! (in a serious, almost desperate tone)
Me: What's that, Miles?
Miles: Today, I saw a rainbow!!
Me: That's wonderful!! I bet it was pretty, huh?
Miles: Yeah!
Me: Do you remember how to say 'rainbow' in Russian?
Miles: Ra-doo-ga!

Yeah, that was definitely a high-5 moment.

The other evening someone asked me how I was doing. I responded by saying that I was great and then immediately started telling them that I had seen multiple rainbows that morning, even a double one that was big and fat at the bottom.

Immediately upon my finishing my explanation of the rainbows I'd seen that morning, I remember the conversation I'd had with my nephew a few nights before. And it hit me. No wonder I want to teach kindergarten- one of my very best friends is three years old and I still get just as excited about seeing rainbows outside as he does.
