My shoes are getting sent back to Moscow... with my feet in them!

Yes!! It's true! After the painfully long process of filling out and turning in my mission papers, I have received my mission call!!! I have been called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and assigned to labor in the Russia Moscow Mission!!! I don't think I could be happier!!!! Yes- I'm going back to Russia!!

For those of you that don't know, missionaries in the LDS church don't choose where they serve their missions; they are assigned a mission location based on the needs of the church and inspiration given to the church leaders that give the assignments. I honestly thought that Moscow was the LAST place in the world that I would get called to. I had a feeling that I was going Russian speaking to somewhere else in Eastern Europe, but every time anyone was like, "Hey, what if you go back to where you taught English in Russia?" I laughed and thought in my head, "Yeah, I really DON'T think that's going to happen." When I read "the Russia Moscow Mission" on my call letter, I was stunned.... and absolutely over-joyed. I was excited to get to serve the Lord and go preach His gospel no matter where I was called, but when I found out I get to go back to the people that I already love, I could barely handle the amount of happiness I felt and am still feeling.

Russia is in desperate need of real hope, and nothing brings more hope to souls than gaining an understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father's Plan of Happiness for us, His children. I can hardly wait to go and get to share that hope and knowledge with my Russian brothers and sisters. The work will be hard, but the labor will be worth the reward and the Lord will give me strength. I know it.  : )
